
Cool, relaxed, raw and comfortable, with a touch of ethnic bohemian. This was the style Jannie and Lars Schacksen dreamed of creating when they introduced nü on the Danish market in 1997.
nü means naked in French and woman in Chinese, and it fits perfectly into the designers’ vision of a raw simplicity, pure natural materials and ethical production.
nü’s collections always feature toned down colours to provide an organic look. But when you come close, a wealth of carefully designed embroidery, stitching, cuts and other original details emerges, forming the unique nü style.
nü quickly became a sought after brand and the company enjoyed growth year after year. The financial daily newspaper Børsen named nü a Gazelle company five times, most recently in 2010.
In 2011, nü expanded its product range to include a remarkable series of unique jewellery produced by Kenyan women.
February 2012 saw the launch of nü home, an extensive collection of home textiles in the same organic bohemian style as the clothing collection. These new ranges were later joined by a small, exclusive line of natural lotions and soaps free of parabens, fragrances and dyes.
The nü collections are now sold in leading stores throughout Denmark and in the following export markets:Norway, Sweden, Greenland, the Faroe Islands, Germany, England, France, Holland, Belgium and Australia.
An essential part of nü’s philosophy is to maintain a close dialogue with our customers. This gives us the most direct feedback possible on our collections. Therefore, we particularly value our Danish concept shops in Copenhagen, Skagen, Randers, Fredericia and Næstved – as well as those in Norway, Holland, France and Germany.
